What is in a word? Jeff Thomas Conceptual
Artist and Curator of the What Show wants to know.
Jeff Thomas has invited a large diversity of Artists from The
Philadelphia Area as well as the international stage to explore
WHAT as a concept.
The Participating Artists have been given the definition
of WHAT from Webster’s Dictionary,
And were asked to create a piece of art. WHAT will they create?
Some of the Artists being featured include:
Highwire Gallery Members: KT- Sculpture, David Gerbstadt-Conceptual
Artist, Lisa Spera-Conceptual Photographer, Jeff Waring-Painter,
John Van Zandt-
Video Installation
As well as Long time Associates:
Corbit Mitef- Writer Artist Resides in Paris
Robert Younger, Stanley Kaplan and Midge Valdez are painters
and sculptors from New York City.
Larry Livolsi- Glass blower from Conneticut
Floss Barber-Interior Designer and Buddhist Conceptual Artist
from Philadelphia.
Jennifer Brinton Robkin and Lydia Hunn painters from Philadelphia
Carol Clamer- Potter living in New Mexico

Mr. Thomas Curated the “Shovel Show” at the Highwire Gallery
in May 2004
Many of the Artists participating in the What show have
participated in “The Shovel Show”.
The Shovel Show was based on the Conept of the Shovel.
The Shovel Show was well received and widely acclaimed.
Everybody
dug it.

Bands, plays, poets, Dancers, Drums and Risque Behavior. The WHAT festival
will be running
throughout the Month of September and also run in conjuntion
with THE PHILADELPHIA FRINGE FESTIVAL.
