This was based on a photo I took in Tyler State Park. The photo was enlarged with my computer and cut into 2-inch squares, which were arranged in a checkerboard-like pattern. Different kinds of paper are collaged behind the photograph to reflect the texture of the image... the grass has Chinese text collaged into it, the trees have road maps, the barns and house have vertical blocks of English text which reflect the boards, and the sky has Portuguese text, along with other found elements. The entire piece was then painted over to give the image coherence.
